“Resistance” is part of a series of three poems in which Adriana Rodrigues Novais expands her understanding of the fight and resistance the Brazilian Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) is involved in. The writings express the pains and the celebrations that permeate various moments in her activism. They contain dimensions of collective struggle against the current capitalist, patriarchal, colonial and racist order. “Resistance” was inspired by the motto “Women Sowing the Resistance”, which permeated the first national congress of women at MST in March 2020.
